Wearing my traditional Dirndl and posing with The Anton Showband |
We could not help but to sing and dance as the band played traditional Bavarian music during the event. They got us to our feet and there were no strangers in the room as everyone interacted with the other partygoers like we were all one big family!
There were a number of games where my friends and I participated and won some special prizes! Men and women lifted kegs and mugs of beer to see who could last the longest without setting them down. Then, of course, the fastest gulpers also had a drinking competition.

All throughout the special Oktoberfest period until November 10, Brotzeit will be offering Weihenstephaner Festbier, specially brewed for the Oktoberfest season and brought to the Philippines exclusively for Brotzeit Oktoberfest. This deep gold beer, with its rich mouthfeel and distinctive flavor, perfectly embodies the Bavarian way of celebrating.

If I'm being honest, we went for the beer and also largely for the food! While most of us are already fans of of the regular menu at Brotzeit, we were also delighted to sample the Brotzeit Oktoberfest 2024 menu.
The star of the show is the Oktoberfest 2024 platter! It features a mouthwatering selection of signature dishes like the Pork Knuckle, Grilled Pork Chop, Roast Beef, Regensburger Sausage, Nurnberger, Thuringer, and more, all served with sauerkraut and potato salad.

The Döner Sandwich brings me back to my school days in Europe! This was my favorite late-night snack after a long day of walking and bar hopping. Thanks to Brotzeit, I get to experience it here again. This is a Turkish food that has been adopted by Germany, and the version served at Brotzeit is a focaccia stuffed with döner meat, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, and onions. So good!
We also enjoyed other Oktoberfest staples such as:
- Weisswurst: Traditional Bavarian pork and veal sausages served with a pretzel.
- Rinderbraten: Roast beef with red wine sauce, mashed potatoes, and roasted vegetables.
- Schweinskotelette. King-Henry pork chop served with mashed potatoes and bacon-wrapped beans.
- Regensburger Sausage: Smoked pork sausages serve. d with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes.
- Anchovy Fladen: Flatbread topped with cheese, anchovies, artichokes, capers and sweet red onions.
