Poblacion Bar Crawl With LOCALLY Charged Cocktails
Metro Manila is a f—ing inferno this summer! Pardon my French but if you live here, you would be cursing this heat to the high heavens too.
Luckily, there are some ways to ease the burning pain. Apart from getting on a plane to move to cooler places, the second best thing is to have an ice cold drink in your hand.
A few weeks ago, LOCALLY fruit juice by Nutri-Asia and Zomato Philippines hosted a pub crawl around the Poblacion area in Makati. We were treated to several creative cocktails mixed with tropical fruit flavored juices. Here’s a quick video of the highlights:
LOCALLY features flavors based on popular fruits found in the Philippines. Some of the flavors that we tried are Tamarind, Mangosteen, Guyabano, Calamansi, Dalandan and Kamias. With the wide variety of flavors, the bartender in each stop was faced with the challenge of creating alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
1ST STOP: WICKED DOGS
ALCOHOLIC DRINKS: Step On It (Calamansi) Joy Ride (Tamarind) Slippery When Wet (Kamias)
After a hearty meal and a few cocktails, we took a small break on the food. The group only managed to chow down on some nachos but we continued to chug some drinks at the Jose Cuervo Tequileria.
ALCOHOLIC/NON-ALCOHOLIC DRINKS:
Tamarind Cosmopolitan
Kamias Mojito
Calamansi Margarita
Guyabano Sex on the Beach
3RD STOP: A’TODA MADRE
At this point, we were right smack in the middle of the pub crawl. You can say that we were pacing ourselves up to this point. While some of the previous drinks were mild, A’toda Madre gave us some real tequila based treats.
ALCOHOLIC DRINKS
Sweet and Sour (Kamias)
Vitamin Sea (Calamansi)
Tamarita Guyabano (Tamarind)
Island Fever (Guyabano)
I know I said that we just had some hotdogs and nachos. However, it was already about 4:00 pm and we were ready for some merienda. Read all about the amazing street tacos and all the other snacks that we had at A’toda Madre here:
So we”ve had some drinks and some food. What’s next? Do it all over again of course! This time, we did it with an amazing view.
The group piled into the elevators of the City Garden Grand Hotel and emerged at the roof deck. Here, we enjoyed 360 degree views of the Makati skyline while sipping our cocktails.
ALCOHOLIC DRINKS:
Dalandan Sangria
Kamias Mojito
Mangosteen with Mint and Honey
Apart from the drinks enjoyed with a view, the chef here also decided that it was time for a mini-fiesta and an early dinner. He stuffed our faces silly with a barrage of amazing food. Read all about it here:
By the time we reached Pura Vida, we were close to a food coma. However, there was still room for more drinks. They mixed up several refreshing cocktails with the now very familiar taste of Locally Fruit Juices.
Apart from the new creations, they generously mixed up batches of their signature drinks.
SIGNATURE DRINKS:
Tico Rasta Mary
Healthy Rasta
No-Army
What a way to end the evening! Oh wait, did I mention that after our EARLY dinner at Firefly, we also had a LATE dinner at Pura Vida? Yes. We sure did! How can we resist the traditional Costa Rican dishes that are difficult to find elsewhere in the country?
Kureji is redefining the Japanese dining experience, one sizzling bowl at a time and I got a chance to see what they have to offer! Since 2018, this innovative restaurant has been captivating taste buds with its signature Sizzling Ramen. This unique dish combines traditional ramen flavors with a theatrical presentation, served on a sizzling hot bowl to enhance the aroma and flavor profile. Are you curious yet? My friends and I trooped over to Kureji at Ali Mall, Araneta City and sat down for a fun catch-up session over a carefully curated lunch spread. Of course, we had to try their signature Sizzling Tomato Seafood Ramen. Sizzling Tomato and Seafood Ramen I was a bit skeptical about the tomato-based broth at first, fearing that it might taste more like pasta. However, the rich seafood flavor definitely came through, with just a hint of the tomato tang. The sizzling presentation was definitely interesting, and the interactive experience of timing the exact moment to pour the...
Fishcake Myeongdong is one of the most popular tourist districts in the center of Seoul, Korea. Located just on the foot of Mount Namsan and the famous N Seoul Tower, you can’t miss this area if you’re on a tour of the city. One of the big reasons for a visit? Lots of great shopping opportunities and a bustling street food market! In the video below, my friends and I try to sample as much of the food as we can. We give you honest reviews of each item so that you’ll know what you can’t miss and what you can skip when you visit Myeongdong Street Food Market. Off the top of my head, I highly recommend: 1. Egg Bread (gyeran-ppang/gyeran-bbang). This is sweet and savory at the same time. Think of it as a your morning pancake and eggs all in one. I even make it with bacon at home. Korean Egg Bread (Gyeran-ppang/bbang) 2. Steak: I can’t be sure if this is the highly regarded Korean beef (Hanwoo) or not. However, I can guarantee that the beef they sell on the street here is much be...

My friends and I enjoying the Oktoberfest party! Earlier this month, my foodie friends and I attended one of the special "Party Days to Remember" at Brotzeit Shangri-La @ The Fort, BGC. The band came all the way from Germany specifically for Brotzeit's signature party days which were held at Brotzeit BGC on Sept. 27 and 29, and Brotzeit Alabang on Sept. 28. Wearing my traditional Dirndl and posing with The Anton Showband We could not help but to sing and dance as the band played traditional Bavarian music during the event. They got us to our feet and there were no strangers in the room as everyone interacted wi...
