GRAPE ESCAPE: Unlimited Wine and Great Food Available Now in New Location

Grape Escape

Any place that offers unlimited wine immediately gets plus points for me. On top of that, brick oven pizza and a well-curated menu are elements that make GRAPE ESCAPE a highly recommended watering hole in my book. It also doesn’t hurt that they offer a selection of Chilean wines. those who know me well are aware that I have a penchant for Chilean vino. The UNLI WINE promo goes for Php599 from Monday to Thursday, 5:00-9:00 pm. Now, that’s what I call a proper happy hour!

Before we talk about the food, let me recommend the Rose Sangria and the Tinto de Verano that they also serve in GRAPE ESCAPE. The tinto de verano brings me back to school days in Spain, when this was all the liquid I would consume in a day. The sangria has a proper kick despite going down smoothly like a refreshing fruit drink. This is a good choice for those who like sweet, fruity cocktails.

If you’re interested in some tapas while you’re enjoying your wine, you can also opt for their TAPAS TRIO promo. For Php1,200, you can get a bottle of wine and a trio of appetizers. you’ll get some beef salpicao, garlic mushrooms and chicken poppers. It’s a good deal, but if you ask me, I’m going for the unli wine and probably some pizza.

Okay, enough about the wine. Let’s talk about the food. GRAPE ESCAPE has a brick oven. The pizzas they serve here are not exactly the same texture as authentic Neapolitan brick-oven pizzas. Theirs has a slightly crispier crust, more toppings and a lot less char on the edges. For the Filipino consumer, that’s close to perfect. I’m very partial towards Neapolitan-style pizza but I am definitely not complaining. If you’re not thinking about authenticity, then the pizzas get top marks.

The menu also has a good selection of pasta dishes. Make sure to tell your server that you prefer your noodles al dente. Apparently, some customers have been asking for noodles that are softer than what’s ideal. Whoever you are, if you are over 12 years old, I’m judging you.

You are definitely getting value for money here if you have a look at the Seafood Fra Diavolo. They don’t scrimp on the ingredients! You can also opt for a more simple but flavor-packed Aglio Oglio. Kids will surely enjoy the Chicken & Mushroom pasta. The creamy, rich sauce was a real crowd pleaser.

If you’re looking for some rice, I highly recommend trying the Paella here. They also serve a good selection of main courses. I particularly liked the Chicken Confit. If you’re looking for something lighter, there’s always a good Garden Salad or an Antipasti Platter to go with your wine.

Overall, this place isn’t cheap but you’re not coming here for a quick hit and run meal. You’re expected to have a few drinks and enjoy some good food. I would not mind coming over for a good happy hour once in a while. It’s definitely a step above the usual beer and pulutan joints in the immediate vicinity.
