Where To Eat in Quezon City: Happy Dumplings Opens in SM City Fairview
Happy Dumplings is the only restaurant in the country to offer flavored hakaw! Lucky Northerners will be happy to know that they just opened their first branch at SM City Fairview.
The specialty hakaw from HAPPY DUMPLINGS comes in eight distinct flavors. The colorful dumplings are a delight to the senses! Challenge yourself and try to guess each flavor! I won’t tell you which flavors are available to avoid spoiling the fun. The little pockets of shrimp goodness are wrapped in a bouncy soft wrapper that is a characteristic of a well-made hakaw. A basket of 4 only costs P128 while a full basket of 8 is priced at P238. I promise you, you wouldn’t want to share!
DIMSUM
Aside from the special hakaw, there is a wide selection of dimsum to choose from. There’s the classic PORK AND SHRIMP SIOMAI as well as BOLA-BOLA and ASADO SIOPAO. If you want to have some crunch, go for the FRIED WANTON!
I’m a big fan of the BEANCURD ROLL. This is one of my favorite dimsum treats. The soft and slightly chewy beancurd skins have an interesting texture and a mild, soya-based flavor.
RICE MEALS
If you are looking for something more substantial, I highly recommend the roasted meats. They have PORK ASADO, LECHON MACAU, SOY CHICKEN and HONG KONG STYLE CRISPY FRIED CHICKEN. If you can’t decide on a favorite, grab a variety of meats and sauces! The ROAST COMBINATION is a sampler of roasts all in one plate. Obviously, you will need to order up a platter of rice! I loved the YANG CHOW FRIED RICE but you can also opt for the SALTED FISH FRIED RICE.
If you’re dining alone, don’t worry! HAPPY DUMPLINGS also offers rice toppings. You can have your dumplings with rice or some LECHON MACAU, SWEET and SOUR PORK, PORK ASADO, SPARE RIBS, SOY CHICKEN or HK STYLE CRISPY CHICKEN as a solo meal with rice.
NOODLES
No Chinese-themed restaurant is complete without noodles! For only P128, you can get a HK style noodle soup topped with either BEEF WONTON or SOY CHICKEN!
The Cantonese flavors here are classic. If you’re looking for Chinese comfort food, you can find it here. The price point is reasonable and this is the kind of place you can go to on a regular basis.
