Fantastic Chef: Unlimited Korean BBQ For Only P499!!!
There is no point in denying that there’s a massive Korean invasion in the Manila food scene. Unlimited Korean Barbecue is the most popular trend and Fantastic Chef is another place that offers a great deal.
For only Php499.00, diners can choose between 10 different cuts of plain or marinated pork or chicken. For just an additional Php50.00 (Php549.00), two cuts of beef can be added into the mix. Here’s a list of the options:
I personally prefer marinated cuts of meat for my Korean Barbecue so I was very pleased to see seasoned and marinated options. Many unlimited meat offers in other restaurants just have plain pork or beef so this is a definite upgrade to your usual unli samgyupsal joint.

My favorite cuts were the seasoned beef plate and the spicy pork bulgogi. You can tell that the meat cuts were good but not exactly premium level. However, this is to be expected for an unlimited deal. Nevertheless, the effort placed into serving marinated options is a big plus.
The banchan (side dish) options were also quite abundant. They even threw in soup and steamed egg (gyeran jjim) as part of the unlimited menu. The Filipino favorite japchae noodles were also included. Most other places will offer these as an additional order.
Overall, Fantastic Chef offers great value for money. Make sure that you come as a group to make the most out of your meat options. The taste is good but it’s nothing really special or exceptional compared to many other Korean Barbecue restaurants.
Service is quite slow during lunch time even if the restaurant isn’t full. We were there with only two other tables and we had to wait a very long time for our last plate of meat to be served.
This place is definitely worth a try if you find yourself in the Malate-Remedios Circle area.
