Meat-All-You-Can Deal at Waterside Restobar Sets the Bar High

A Meaty Indulgence (Wednesdays and Saturdays, 6pm, Php1,848++)

The proliferation of eat-all-you-can restaurants in Metro Manila has been fuelled by the Korean Barbecue invasion. Unlimited meats and sides are now being peddled left and right. Waterside Restobar  at the Sky Tower of Solaire Resort and Casino sets itself apart by offering a churrasco-inspired meat-all-you-can deal.  “A Meaty Indulgence” is a limited promo that involves unlimited servings of roasted meats, a wide selection of sides and free-flowing drinks. The deal goes for Php1,848++ per head on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Waterside at Solaire

The imposing entrance to the Waterside Restobar immediately lets you know that you won’t be elbowing through an eat-all-you-can crowd that’s fighting for limited space just for a good deal. You won’t be cooking your own meat either. In fact, you will get tableside service from the mobile carving station that carries an impressive selection of Latin-inspired roasted meats.

A chef expertly carves your choice of meat which is served directly to your table.

I personally love having an interactive meal so I made personal requests on my choice of meat and the cuts that I prefer. There was also something satisfying about coming up close to the carving station as the chef graciously allowed me to observe and select what goes on my plate.

Up close and personal with the chef at the carving station.

My favorites would have to be the crispy pata and the baby back ribs. The crispy pata (crispy pork knuckles) is a popular menu item in South America and the Philippines. You can enjoy this with a Latin-inspired sauce or go native. Luckily, Waterside offered some toyomansi (soy sauce and calamansi) as part of their selection of dips and sauces. I just wouldn’t have it any other way!

The meat was very tender and juicy and the chef did not scrimp on the crispy skin. It’s no wonder that the crispy pata was always the first to disappear from the table. If you see it on the cart, ask for some immediately!

The ribs on the other hand, were glazed with a sweet, tangy barbecue sauce. The meat fell off the bone and I immediately wrapped it in a fresh corn tortilla. You can get tortillas and rice plus a wide selection of sides to go with your meal.

I went for the tart Thai mango salad and corn hash to cut through the richness of my meat. I also buried my face deep into the Nacho Bar.

Get your nachos fully-loaded with a large selection of toppings. (Not in picture: creamy cheese sauce and pulled pork)

Apart from those I’ve already mentioned, you can enjoy sausages, roasted chicken, beef brisket, pork belly and other choice cuts of meat. There is a sauce selection that includes the classic Latin chimichurri, a black pepper sauce, apricot sauce and much more!

While having my fill at the table, I needed a crisp beverage to help everything go  down smoothly. I personally chose a light Chardonnay since the meal was already very heavy. I know red wines go more traditionally with meat but I’m a firm believer that I only have myself to please at the table. I have my own preferences and I make my own rules. Luckily, Waterside Restobar offers  good selection of drinks to go with the Meaty Indulgence menu. Do try one of their Latin cocktails if you’re looking for something unique. You can also opt for some fresh juices and soft drinks if you’re not looking for a buzz.

Calm your tummy down with some coffee or tea to wrap up your meal. I surely needed it!
