Pound by Todd English Opens at Ayala Malls Vertis North

Rejoice northerners! Ayala Malls Vertis North has become the newest haven for some of the best food concepts in the Metro. POUND by Todd English is the latest restaurant to officially open its doors to the public in this new mall.

My foodie friends and I visited the seventh branch last week and had our fill of their best sellers. I’m going to cut to the chase and tell you that I ordered none other than their famous Pound Foie Gras Burger.

Pound Foie Gras Burger (Php700)

They were definitely not shy about the amount of foie gras on this burger. That’s a relief because with a Php700 price tag, they made sure that it was worth it. The patty was also thick, juicy and flavorful. This should definitely be the default order when dining at POUND.

However, if you’re still looking at other options, they do have many other menu items. One of my friends had the Todd English Crispy Chicken Burger, which can also be ordered in slider form.

T.E. Crispy Chicken Burger (Php 225)

They were not kidding when they said that the chicken patty was crispy. In fact I found it maybe a bit too crispy for my taste. I  personally don’t like a lot of breading on my chicken patties. Nevertheless, it’s a filling burger that’s generous and full of tangy and zesty flavors. Two people can probably share it for a light meal.

If you have a large appetite and you’re looking for something more substantial, there is an option to add beef patties to whatever burger variety you choose to order (Php100/patty). One of my friends tried the AMSTERDAM BURGER with three patties! Take a moment to appreciate this beauty:

If for whatever reason you did not come to POUND for a burger (but why???) then you have other options as well. They serve pasta and a good number of sides that you can have with your burger.

Pound Pomodoro (Php 150)

They also serve the quintessentially Canadian Poutine. Todd English is an American so I was slightly surprised to see poutine on the menu. It didn’t seem like they used curds here but it doesn’t matter. melted cheese is melted cheese. Who says no to that?

Pizza Poutine (Php160): Roasted Garlic, tomato Sauce, Basil Chiffonade, Parmesan, Pepperoni
Todd English Poutine (Php180) : Gravy, Caramelized Onions, Cheese, Ground Beef

We ended our meal with some Todd English Sundaes. The ice cream was great but the generous amount of brownie bits really made it extra special. What a treat!
