I know that we’re all excited to go out and eat at our favorite restaurants. Personally, I’m still not ready to go out and risk it especially seeing how crowded it has become now that we’re technically allowed to go out.

Luckily, the pandemic has forced the food industry to adjust accordingly. Now, when I’m in the mood for classic Chinese comfort food, all I have to do is contact LIDO ON WHEELS and I can get my all-time Lido faves delivered hot and ready to eat straight to my doorstep.

Pugon roasted asado

A meal at Lido is never complete without some pugon roasted asado. I love having the smoky pieces of pork with rice or even in a sandwich. I normally order extra so that we have leftovers for a bahn mi the next day! The pieces are flavorful and tender, but they are not overly oily. The meat is fairly lean, meaning you can eat a lot without feeling to guilty.

Lechon kawali

Apart from the asado, I’m also a big fan of Lido’s lechon kawali. This time, to change things up, I had the one served with mushrooms and plum sauce. The meat to fat ratio is great! It’s probably best to order this with the sauce on the side so the pork remains crispy until serving. I like the sweet, tangy sauce that perfectly cuts the  richness of the pork.

Lido Chinese Fried Chicken

If you have kids in the house, fried chicken must be a staple. adults love it too of course! The Lido version isn’t breaded heavily like other versions, so it might be a matter of preference if you like heavily breaded fried chicken or Chinese style with a thin crispy skin. This is perhaps healthier, which is always aa good thing! You have some prawn crackers on the side though so it just balances it all out. Nevermind, no one’s on a diet when you’re ordering a Lido feast anyway.

I always go for the wings and legs first and the white meat usually ends up in a salad, sandwich or wrap the next day. It comes with the same sauce as the asado though, so your flavor profiles will get a bit redundant. Maybe it’s a good idea to have a different sauce for this.

Lido Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet
Lido Sweet and Sour Fish Fillet

No Filipino-Chinese meal is complete without a sweet and sour dish! This time, I’m having sweet and sour  fish fillet because we already have a couple of pork options on the table. The fillets just melt in your mouth and the classic flavor of sweet and sour sauce just brings you back to your childhood!

Lido Beef with Ampalaya

Of course, there needs to be a beef option as well. This time, we’re having beef with ampalaya. It’s not my go-to beef dish but I was pleasantly surprised that they really prepared and cooked the ampalaya well. No bitterness at all!

Lido Shrimp Balls

I needed to take an antihistamine for this but it was worth it! Don’t forget to order shrimp balls when you eat at Lido! The croquettes are crispy on the outside but juicy and flavorful inside. You can really taste the shrimp! This again comes with the same dipping sauce as the asado though, so there’s a bit of redundancy in flavor.  It tastes great alone or you can make your own dip.

Lechon Macau Fried Rice

To complete the meal, of course there has to be rice. The family platter at Lido is quite big, and there should be enough to feed about 8 family members or even 10 if you have a lot of other orders. I’m personally not a big rice eater and if I do, I like the soft sticky kind. Fried rice is of course naturally more “buhaghag” and the Lido version is like that. Hard to eat with chopsticks so you might need to bust out a spoon for this haha. We had the Lechon Macau Fried Rice and as you can see in the pic, you can actually have this as a one dish meal perhaps with a dash of soy sauce.

That wraps up our Sunday feast from Lido Cocina Tsina. If you’re interested in ordering for yourself and your family, visit their website at LidoDelivery.com to avail of in-house delivery.
