Shangri-La at the Fort Offers Decadent Dining Deals This Christmas
The Christmas season is a celebration of the birth of Christ. In the Philippines, it also means a very, very extended celebration of family, friends, relationships, year-end achievements and any other reason we can think of. After all, we are considered to be the place which has the longest Christmas festivities.

If you’re looking for a big meal with endless options, go for the buffet at HIGH STREET CAFE. The seafood station here is to die for. The scallops really called my attention. They are so gigantic! I was also happy to see some curacha. It’s not so easy to find those here in Manila so if you haven’t tried it, now’s your chance! The sweet, subtle flavors of the seafood really come out when they are served fresh and unadulterated like this.

We needed to warm up our bellies so a slightly spicy, rich soup from SAMBA was a well-received second course. The Parihuela de Amejas is a Peruvian version of the bouillabaisse. The Peruvian clams in seafood stock is enriched with Latin flavors that really tickle your palate. I’m ready for more!

I can’t tell you enough how plump and succulent the scallops at Shangri-La are. Apart from having them at HIGH STREET CAFE, we sampled them again at CANTON ROAD. This time, the dish had a classic Chinese vibe. Quickly stir-fried with XO sauce and paired with giant prawns, this dish has become an instant favorite!
If you’re a big group, check out the CANTON ROAD celebratory menu. They have packages good for 10 people. This includes appetizers, roasted signatures, soup, six main dishes and desserts!

HIGH STREET LOUNGE has come up with an impressive selection of Christmas-themed cakes and pastries. Come by after your meal at any of the other restaurants but I highly recommend visiting when you have a lot of room in your stomach! I wish I had more space for the white chocolate yule log cake and all the other breads and pastries!
